Long-standing peoples in Old Dhaka city precise that , when British leave the Indian subcontinent they cut the thumbs of  Moslin producer/weaver so that they forget to make muslin and British can sell their own textiles to the world as well Indian subcontinent.

But dhakai Jamdani saee is still producing in old Dhaka with its prominent name and sold all over the Bangladesh as well as a very demandable product to the Women of all over the world. Many of the Bangladeshi cultures are related to Dhakai Jamdani Saree. Bangla new year, Marriage ceremony,
